MYOCURE at the 5th International Congress of Myology

Around 900 Myology experts from around the world gathered in Lyon for the 5th International Congress of Myology from 14-18 March, 2016.

The rising discipline of Myology has seen pathophysiological and therapeutic breakthroughs over the recent years.  The aim of the conference is to bring together specialists of the muscle and its diseases including researchers and medical practitioners to accelerate the development of treatments. The best international specialists in this emerging discipline presented and challenged their latest findings in fundamental research as well as in clinical science and therapeutics.

 MYOCURE partner Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) was represented at the meeting by Prof. Dr. Marinee Chuah, the MYOCURE coordinator and Co-Director of the Department of Gene Therapy & Regenerative Medicine (GTRM), and by Prof. Dr. Thierry VandenDriessche, Director of the GTRM at VUB. On 15 March, 2016 Prof. VandenDriessche presented a talk entitled "Towards the next-generation in vivo and ex vivo gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy".
